Robbery and murder at Goa Museum of Christian Art 2012-01-26Murder and robbery at the Museum of Christian Art. at Old Goa. One of the guards, Luis Bogato was found dead in a pool of blood outside the Musuem. Some artifacts of great value were robbed. Two rosaries and one bracelet of gold, a gold belt studded with diamonds, pectoral cross of diamond along with gold chain have been looted from the museum. Police have arrested four persons on suspicion in connection with the murder but their identity is kept under wraps.
The police suspect that these four plotted the robbery and the guard's killing. The crime scene has been sealed.
The art gallery has several beautiful and extremely valuable artifacts of Indo-Portuguese Christian Art, much admired by all who visit. |
