Shripad says too little too late, declines to contest, BJP first list out 2012-02-05At dead of Sunday night the BJP declared 22 seats, out of the 31 it would contest. The biggest shocker was that Shripad Naik has declined contesting in this Assembly election. Apparently the BJP leadership took too long to make up its mind and he has no time to plan his campaign strategy. Govind Parvatkar will now be the Porvorim candidate.
The entire Bicholim Congress block of party workers has resigned after ex-BJP MLA Patnekar was given a seat. Now Naresh Sawal the Congress worker and his angry supporters will be joining BJP according. The entire Santa Cruz block may resign on masse tomorrow since Victoria was not given a seat.
The list includes all the existing BJP MLAs, except Canacona MLA Vijay Pai Khot. Canacona and Poinguinim are now one Canacona constituency.There's a fight between him and Isidore Fernandes.
