On the eve of Independence Day, Sunday August 14 was a very special day for Resort Rio, the luxury resort at Arpora. It was the resort's first anniversary and the management left no stone unturned in celebrating this momentous landmark. The celebrations began in the early morning with the guests witnessing the cutting of the anniversary cake and the release of a hundred and one balloons in the sky.The resort's star performers were also felicitated.
The weekend special RIO Sundays acquired an extra sparkle with the spirit of celebration. Guests, staff and management celebrated over drinks and a hearty buffet brunch. The One Man Band played not just one but many merry tunes and the guests danced till they could dance no more.
The celebrations did not flag in the evening. The resort guests were ready to rock the night away at the Grand Rio Carnival. Live music and the resort's own DJ George was in attendance with a foot-tapping mix of Hindi and English pop. A richly-attired King Momo and his merry troupe performed a special dance to the cheers of an excited crowd. Even the children joined in the dancing as proud parents flashed their cameras to capture the memorable moments.
A sumptuous dinner and several drinks later, the guests echoed the tag line of Resort Rio, saying that they truly had the time of their lives.
