Register before Nov 25 for khell-tiatr competition

Kala Academy Goa and West Zone Cultural Centre Udaipur will organize an annual Khell-Tiatr festival annually, with the aim of preserving this unique Konkani musical drama form. This year Tiatr Academy of Goa (TAG) in collaboration with Kala Academy of Goa and West Zone Cultural Centre Udaipur will hold a Khell-Tiatre Festival cum Competition.
The traditional characteristics of Khell-Tiatr are listed below. Troupes interested in particiapting must adhere to the following:
1. The khell-tiatr must have a single story line from beginning to end with an interval of 10 to 15 minutes.
2. The khell-tiatr must have at least 12 Cantos (songs) of two verses and one chorus. All these songs or cantos must be related to the theme of the play.
3. Comedy in the play must be directly linked to the theme of the khell-tiatr.
The prescribed application forms are available at the office of Kala Academy Goa.
The last date to register for the festival is November 25, 2011.
