Givng tickets to families is people's wish, says Oscar Fernandes

The barrage of tickets given to families, Naiks, Alemaos, Ranes, Madkaikars, Monserrates is sought to be played down by the Congress Party. Dinar Tarcar was not given a ticket with the, even after he has done so much alleged hera pheri with illegal mining. There was just no place for him. He says he has all the permissions for mining and is willing to show them to anyone who is interested. Strange how the Shah Commission was interested and had to physically verify the illegalities. So Dinar Tarcar joined the MGP that is desperate to just survive in Goan politics. He said he was just going through the motions of being in the Congress for the last four years and it was time to leave.

Oscar Fernandes, the Congress Party observer, said that the tickets going to the families is the wish of the people.He said the Party took that decision not merely with the win of the candidate in mind, but "we have to form a majority in the Goa Assembly." He brought out the Winnability Factor again saying that they have taken into consideration the winnability of the candidate and the winnability of the Congress Party in the State.

Mauvin Godinho could not conceal his discomfort at the tickets given to family members. It is a pity we could nto get new candidates with winnability he said.
