Cheerleading championship at Goa Museum Feb 12 2011-02-10The Goa Museum will be playing host to something which is far, far, removed from ancient artifacts. The Cheerleading Association of Goa in association with the Cheerleading Federation of India will organise its 2nd National Cheerleading Championship at Goa Museum Hall, Patto-Panaji on Saturday, February 12, at 6.30 pm.
Punjab, Delhi, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and host Goa will participate in the championship. Two more states are still to decide on their participation.
The Cheerleading Association of Goa intends to enroll at least 10 teams of age below 14 years from various high schools across the state. There are plans to build teams of secondary schools and colleges between ages of 14 and 18.
The Association is also in talks with dance academies in the state in the hope that talented dancers will get into the sport of cheerleading soon.
