Aires: Cops must investigate Mickky's unlicensed pistol

2010-06-23

Adv. Aires Rodrigues has today demanded that the police should investigate into the unlicensed pistol that was being used by former Tourism Minister Micky Pacheco. It needs to be probed whether this weapon was used to also threaten Nadia Torrado.

It was public knowledge that Mickky Pacheco had time and again brandished this pistol at various people to threaten them after losing his temper. Pacheco used to conceal this illegal weapon in the “natal cleft” on his back just under the belt of his trousers.

Adv. Rodrigues staes that the South Goa Collector had rejected Pacheco’s application for firearm licence in view of his violent nature.

Adv. Rodrigues has further stated that it was highly deplorable that Micky Pacheco who as Minister had sworn by the Indian Constitution to uphold the law during the numerous times he was sworn in as Cabinet Minister of Goa, had over the years repeatedly violated the law with impunity.
