Writing course on Critical Thinking at Chowgule's 2012-02-06Chowgule College is offering a special course in critical thinking starting on 16th February. An initiative of the college’s Writing Centre – the only centre of its kind in the country - Chowgule College has invited Professor Robert Witmer, Associate Professor of English at Sophia University, Japan to conduct a one month course which is open to students as well as the general public.
Critical thinking is considered to be one of the essential skills that college students as well as individuals should develop. Society always needs fresh and sometimes even radical perspectives to break preconceived ideas or stereotypes. Critical thinking highlights the need for clarity and logical consistency in the expression of ideas.
After conducting a successful course on Short Fiction Writing last year at Chowgule College, Professor Witmer is back in Goa to conduct this interesting course intended to strengthen the abilities to apply critical thinking to day-to-day situations.
The Critical thinking course will start on the 16th of February and will be conducted thrice a week at the college campus in the evenings. Interested individuals can submit their applications to the Writing Center or email it to writingcenter@chowgules.ac.in.
