DGP (Director General of Police) Goa Kishan Kumar has been conducting weekly meetings with Goa police telling them to work with a will, register complaints and generally pull up their socks to stem the rising tide of crimes both petty and major in Goa. When the DGP heard that two complaints of theft, had not been registered in the Verna police station, he decided to send out a message that non-registration of police complaints would not be tolerated. The DGP is reported to have physically gone to the Verna Police Station. He checked the station diary about the veracity of two cases. Two theft cases from Sancoale were both not registered. Even though in one case some goods were actually recovered from the accused was arrested under preventive detention, but no case was registered about the theft. The second case too was not registered and since he was the station in-charge, P I Colaco was suspended. Message sent. Message received.
